An open bookcase keeps books, binders and objects on display and makes the space feel lighter; it works well in executive offices and meeting areas. A closed bookcase, with doors, keeps out dust and hides clutter, so it suits reference archives or shared areas. Mixed bookcases, part open and part closed, are also available.
